English
At Limes Farm Infant School we believe that a quality English curriculum will develop children’s love of reading, writing and discussion. It is our intent to provide quality English lessons that develop a secure knowledge-base in Literacy. We provide a curriculum that follows a clear pathway of progression and develops pupils’ spoken language, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary.
We immerse our children in stimuli to inspire them and present our pupils with creative opportunities to develop and apply their spoken language, reading and writing skills across the curriculum.
We believe that children need to develop secure Literacy skills to ensure they can access high quality education. We provide our children with the tools they need to be lifelong learners and participate fully as positive members of society.
We inspire a love of English and a curiosity of books and language in all. We ensure that every child becomes a confident reader, writer and speaker by the time they leave Limes Farm Infant School. We instil a love of English that will empower them to be curious, thrive and take on the world.
We follow the English National Curriculum Programme of Study and the Little Wandles Letters and Sounds Revised Phonics Programme.
